NSW SES advises people in the following area(s) to STAY INDOORS due to Tropical Cyclone Moana moving towards the New South Wales coast:
- Byron Bay and nearby areas

This event may change quickly. NSW SES will monitor the situation and update warnings if the situation changes.
What you need to do:
- Move or stay indoors clear of windows, bringing children and pets with you.
- Find the strongest and safest room to shelter in. This will be away from big windows. It could be a bathroom, walk-in wardrobe or hallway.
- Cover any windows in your safe room with a mattress or heavy blanket. This will protect you from broken glass if the window breaks. Shelter under them if the roof comes off.
- Put your emergency kit in your safe room.
- If your roof or balcony is struck by a fallen tree/branch or other large debris - stay clear and remain indoors if you can. It may have been structurally weakened, even if there is no obvious damage.
- Have your emergency kit and grab and go bag handy in case you lose power.
- Stay clear of fallen trees, power lines and damaged buildings.
