Avoid the area
The NSW SES advises people to AVOID THE FOLLOWING AREAS due to predicted x, y, z:
- Perisher Valley
- Thredbo Top Station
- Falls Creek
You should monitor the situation and avoid the area until further advised. There may be damaged infrastructure and dangerous hazards within the area.
What are we expecting?
The NSW SES advises these weather conditions may cause:
- Medium chance of showers in the west, most likely in the morning and afternoon. Near zero chance of rain elsewhere.
- Snow possible above 1800 metres.
- Winds northwesterly 25 to 35 km/h turning westerly 30 to 45 km/h during the morning then decreasing to 20 to 30 km/h during the evening.
This event may change quickly. NSW SES will monitor the situation and update warnings if the situation changes.
What you need to do:
- Do not go sightseeing as this may put yourself and others at risk.
- Obey all signs about road closures and instructions from emergency services.
- Stay clear of fallen trees, power lines and any damaged buildings.
- Avoid unnecessary travel. If you do need to travel, plan to avoid potentially snow affected roads and consider different ways to get to where you need to go.
- Share this information with family, friends, and neighbours.
