Watch and Act

The NSW SES advises people to AVOID THE FOLLOWING AREAS due to coastal erosion caused by storm activity resulting in significant damage to buildings, infrastructure, the environment, public facilities and potentially life:

  • Byron Coast
  • Coffs Coast
  • Macquarie Coast

You should monitor the situation and avoid the area until further advised. There may be damaged infrastructure and dangerous hazards within the area.


What are we expecting?

The following areas may be impacted by coastal erosion:

  • Low-lying roads, causeways and bridges
  • Low-lying farming and rural areas
  • Low-lying areas along the river

This event may change quickly. NSW SES will monitor the situation and update warnings if the situation changes.


What you need to do:

  • Avoid unnecessary travel in the affected area.
  • If you do need to travel, plan your route carefully to avoid the impacted area and allow extra travel time.
  • Obey all signs about road closures and instructions from emergency services.
