The NSW SES advises people in the following area(s) to STAY INFORMED about a potential Tsunami threat that may exist:
- 5551 George Downes Drive Bucketty NSW 2250
- 912 Murrays Run Road Laguna NSW 2325
You should stay informed by monitoring warnings issued by NSW SES on their website and Facebook page, listening to your local ABC radio station, and checking the latest tsunami information from the Bureau of Meteorology online.
What are we expecting?
The Bureau of Meteorology advises the flood peaks from both the Macintyre and Weir Rivers are now arriving at Mungindi where river levels continue to rise slowly and are expected to peak near its current level, with major flooding.

Based on predictions from the Bureau of Meteorology, the following areas may be impacted by hazardous tsunami waves:
- Khyber downs, Sherwin St
- Angledool Rd
What you need to do:
- If you have a Home/Business Emergency Plan, review it now. Otherwise, have a conversation and plan for what you will do and take with you if you need to evacuate.
- Obey all signs about beach and foreshore closures and instructions from emergency services.
- Share this information with family, friends and neighbours and help others prepare where possible.
- Farmers should consider moving pumps and farm equipment to higher ground.
- Companion animals and livestock should be relocated to higher ground.
- The safest option is to evacuate as early as possible to avoid additional hazards. Do not wait till the last minute.
